Writing

This is my bread and butter. It wakes me up at night, flows through my day, and grants me satisfaction.

Cycling

Tandem bicycling with my husband is glorious. (Before you ask, I am always peddling). Being on the same bike is a test of one's marriage and an opportunity to learn what it means to read another's body and react like two using the same mind.

Reading

I must read. Reading has always been my escape from discomfort of any sort. Yet, it also provides food for thought, knowledge, and a focus for my often wide ranging mind.

Bird Watching

My most exciting find: a pair of wood ducks. The male's coloring is sharp and brillaint, he almost doesn't look real. The female has echoes of his colors in stainglass insets on her wings. Each day I search for the new feathered visitor to our yard. My hint, hint, hint, to my husband is a spotting scope. He'll get the message one of these days.

Remodeling

Not something I naturally am drawn to, but its been a large part of my life the last few years. Current project: get the old house ready for its new owners: ~ our daughter and her husband. I'm looking foward to transitioning from home remodeler to grandmother later this year.
